Lightning Runner
Wondrous Item, Uncommon
This 10-foot-wide, 10-foot-long, 6-inch-thick platform of wood and steel levitates 5 feet off the ground and remains horizontal so long as it is within 20 feet of an operational track of lightning rail conductor stones. The platform can carry up to 2000 pounds. If it becomes overloaded, it drops to the ground, unable to levitate.
The platform is equipped with a ‘pump’ in its center that can be used to move it along the track of conductor stones. As a Magic action, a creature touching the pump can expend a spell slot of 1st-level or higher to cause the platform to continuously move either forwards or backwards along the conductor stone track at a speed of 30 feet. A creature with the Mark of Passage does not need to expend a spell slot to cause the platform to move.
Once moving, the platform will move in the chosen direction for one hour, or until a creature touching the pump uses a Magic action to cause the platform to stop. If stopped in this way, a creature must expend another spell slot as a Magic action to start the platform moving again.
If the platform encounters an obstacle while moving, it will continue to push against the obstacle unless stopped with a Magic action. Obstacles that weigh less than the total weight of the platform and its cargo will be pushed in front of the platform.
